Best Visit

The best friend I've ever had came to visit this weekend. He and his wife drove up from San Antonio, and we spent several pleasant hours together sharing memories then had a great meal at the best local Mexican food place.

Pat and I met in August 1995 on the campus of Texas A&M University. We were in the same doctoral program and shared a number of classes over the course of the next three years. Suki, his wife, and I became friends under more difficult circumstances after Pat was taken to San Antonio by the US Army. The three of us haven't spent much time together in the intervening years but the bond is still strong. It was a wonderful visit. Saturday evening we visited and ate great Mexican food. Sunday afternoon we visited more and ate great hamburgers. Now all that remains are the new memories to add to the old.
