Following is a list of tools that I have used, relevant to what I (want to) do or have done.
All are links to Amazon. However, I am NOT an Amazon affiliate and derive no income from Amazon in any way.

I purchased this when I was having trouble putting the slider on zippers cut from zippers by the yard. I couldn't get it to work and have since learned better how to put the slider on without a jig. There are other types of zipper jigs on the market, but I have not tried them. Personally, I think it best to save your money and practice without a jig until you are confident in this skill.
OK. Maybe 100 is a bit much. But these little gadgets prevent thread run away when that spool goes tumbling around on the floor or in a drawer. Just wrap one around your spool and the thread is secure. If you need a few, I probably have some to spare. Otherwise, check out the options on Amazon; some of them have fewer than 100.
With a serger, I tend to purchase thread in large cones which will not fit onto my sewing machine. Thread stand to the rescue. There are a few on the market. This one works just fine.
A great alternative to pins, sewing clips can help hold things together when pins might not be the best choice. I especially use them when I am joining bulky layers. There are lots of options out there.
