Crafting Supplies

Following is a list of supplies that I have used, relevant to what I (want to) do or have done.

All are links to Amazon. However, I am NOT an Amazon affiliate and derive no income from Amazon in any way.

This is what I use to stuff pin cushions. I have nothing to compare it to, but I have noticed that it seems to be clean and dust free, relatively easy to work with and comparable in price to other products on the market. I particularly like the container which makes it easy to scoop out the crushed shells with a measuring cup and fill the pin cushion through a funnel.

If you have a serger, you'll probably want some wooly nylon for your looper threads. What can I say about this; it's wooly nylon; it provides good coverage; it's a bit pricey as good thread tends to be.

An interesting dye. Allows you to spray specific areas for dyeing. No immersion. No heat setting. And it holds up in the wash. I've used it to do the exterior of a couple of my rope bowls. I like it.

A game changer. These plastic bobbins fit most modern machines and contain much more thread than a bobbin you wind yourself. I love mine.
Be aware these are 60wt thread rather than the usual 40wt so if this is important to you, you might want to take a pass.

This is an off-brand serger thread I decided to try. Have used on one project thus far and it seems fine. No breaking or fuzzing. Keep in mind that the total price includes "free" shipping.

Pellon's 100% cotton batting for use primarily in kitchen projects like bowl cozies and things that might be microwaved or exposed to heat that might adversely affect polyester. I've only just begun to use it but so far so good.

This is a good cord for sewing rope bowls. However, not for dyeing as the shell is synthetic; only the core is cotton. (Try a burn test if you are unsure.)

Good thread for decorative sewing. I use this for the interior of my rope bowls. It's a bit fuzzy so clean out the machine from time to time. But I haven't had much trouble with breaking unless I let the fuzz build up. Worth a try.
