Books

Following is a list of books that I own or have read, relevant to what I (want to) do or have done.

All are links to books on Amazon. However, I am NOT an Amazon affiliate and derive no income from Amazon in any way.

This is an anything but brief history of the book and associated technologies including the development of writing and the invention of paper, the printing press, and more. I have to confess I haven't finished it yet; am taking a break to read other things. But I highly recommend this book to all who read and are curious about that thing we call a book.

I treat this more as an encyclopedia than as a book for reading cover to cover. A good reference for all things sewing but heavily biased towards sewing clothing. Still, an oldie but a goodie.

I have this in the Kindle edition and am still reading it. If you are interested in the how and why of making colors work together for you, this is a fun read. The physiology and psychology of color -- very interesting.

This book I have only skimmed through in Kindle format. I cannot recommend it as a Kindle book due to the absence of the patterns that are supposed to be included. These patterns may or may not be in the printed edition; I don't know. However, if the patterns are available, I think it has possibilities.

A really well done and cute collection of books which include patterns for making a variety of stuffed animals and their clothing. I haven't had a chance to make any of them ... yet.

Full disclosure: I did not buy these books from Amazon; I got them from another retailer for less money. However, they are cute, fun books with patterns and instructions for making stuffed animal dolls. Check them out but not on Kindle as the Kindle versions do not include the patterns. (They have a URL for patterns which goes to a website that does not have the patterns.) I still haven't made any of these dolls but they are on my to-do list.
